To complement their involvement with the Australian Fertiliser Services Association, Peter and Terri accepted the offer to become UFCC agents in October 2002. "As farmers we have been shareholders of UFCC for a long time and we strongly support the philosophy of the Co-operative. So, when UFCC approached us to become agents, we were keen to take the opportunity," Peter said.

Since becoming agents, Peter and Terri have been busy improving their own facilities to provide a better service to shareholders in Coomberdale and surrounding areas.

Peter and Terri have built a new storage depot at Nambin which will provide an accredited store for both fertiliser and crop protection products.

Custom blending facilities are also available with the installation of a new 9 tonne, fast outloading capacity blender. "It can blend any combination of fertilisers that are compatible and also apply trace elements and fungicides to the fertiliser", Peter said.

Through their involvement with UFCC, Peter and Terri have developed a clear understanding of the Co-operative philosophy.

"The benefits of the Co-operative are that the profits at the end of the day go back to the farmers and remain in the regional areas. UFCC has a strongly entrenched view that they provide the best product to farmers to most effectively suit their soil conditions, so that soil health is maintained and conserved."
