New Wool Alliance Forged in WA (25 August 2006)
As a first step in its restructure, United Farmers Co-operative (UFCC) and the Australian Wool Network (AWN) have announced the establishment of an agency partnership that will further enhance the specialist marketing services currently available to the Co-operative’s wool growing shareholders.

Under the agreement that will come into effect from 1st September 2006, ownership of the UFCC wool business will transfer to AWN, with the Co-operative operating in an agency capacity. The transition will be seamless for UFCC’s current wool customers, with the existing Wool Marketing team being retained and AWN operating out of the Co-operative’s North Fremantle support office.

Back to Basics for United Farmers Co-operative (25 August 2006)
At the recent United Farmers Co-operative (UFCC) Annual Sales Conference, new Chief Executive Officer, Kerry Browne, outlined the ‘Back to Basics’ strategy to be implemented by the Co-operative in a bid to reconnect with the original goals of the founding members.

UFCC was established in 1992 by a small group of disenchanted farmers looking for a better deal on farm inputs, a goal that Mr Browne believes has been somewhat diluted in recent years through the pursuit of other value adding services for shareholders.

New CEO Announced (19 June 2006)
The Chairman of United Farmers Co-operative Company Ltd, Mr Bowe Wilson, today announced that the Board had appointed Mr Kerry Browne as Chief Executive Officer of the Co-operative. Mr Browne, who fills the vacancy left by the resignation of Mr Tony Usher in March, will commence with the Co-operative on 1st August 2006 after completing his current commitments with Incitec Pivot Ltd (IPL).
