The Facts About United Farmers Co-operative
United Farmers Co-operative was established in 1992 when five Western Australian farmers, frustrated that ever-increasing input costs and poor output values were challenging the sustainability of the family farm, decided to take action for all farmers. From its humble beginnings in the early nineties, United Farmers now boasts an impressive member base in excess of 3,500 members.
Initially, the Co-operative’s sole aim was to provide a limited range of low cost, high quality fertilisers to its members. Now in its thirteenth year of operation, United Farmers Co-operative offers shareholders a wide variety of quality, competitively priced products for Fertiliser and AgChem.
With farmers’ interests our primary consideration, United Farmers plays a critical role in maintaining competitive pricing in the market. Every fertiliser and AgChem consumer across the state benefits from United Farmers and its members, working together for rural WA. Similarly, our outputs marketing services are committed to generating competitive returns at a lower cost to you.
Being a co-operative, all profits generated by United Farmers are returned to the trading shareholders in the form of cash and shares, thereby reducing the cost of Fertiliser and AgChem products even further. To date, United Farmers has returned over $46 million to the WA farming community.
The philosophy of the Co-operative remains just as relevant today as it was at inception: To support the long term viability of members' farming operations and maintain the relevance of their Co-operative.
